Standing up for ‘Original Design’ -A message from Amy Myers - sole owner of Juni Moon
At Juni Moon, Every single item you see on our website has been thoughtfully imagined, sketched, revised many times over and then perfected over many months, sometimes even a year or longer.
I pour my heart, creativity, and so many hours into designing toys and keepsakes that are one of a kind, very high quality, and beautiful for little ones to enjoy and cherish for many years to come.
Lately, it’s become blatantly obvious that a few new and a few already established businesses based in Australia and the USA have been taking heavy inspiration from my designs. They aren’t just lightly inspired, they are copying my designs and dimensions down to the centimetre, almost as if they are handing them straight to their suppliers from my website to produce replicas
This isn’t fair.
It sickens me.
This isn’t ethical in any way.
And I don’t agree with it at all.
When someone duplicates what I’ve poured so much care and time into, it completely devalues the effort behind authentic design. It’s not simply “part of business.” It’s taking full advantage of someone else’s dedication, creativity, time and hard work.
I believe in originality, integrity, and the power of bringing something genuinely new into the play space. I want to make it clear that I won’t stand for this ever for myself or any other business who’s also been taken advantage of.
If you ever come across products that look strikingly similar to our designs, I kindly ask that you let me know. Your support helps protect the creative spirit that small businesses like mine are built on.
Thank you for standing with me and valuing the difference between true design and imitation.
Much love,
Amy Myers
